Deliveries - FAQs

When do you deliver?

We currently deliver weekly, please check our 'delivery information' page to find out which day we are delivering in your area.

Where do you deliver?

We are currently delivering in the Halifax and Huddersfield areas.  However, we will shortly be expanding our areas - please keep checking our 'delivery information' page. If you place an order for delivery to a location outside our delivery area, we will cancel the order and will refund the cost (minus 4% of the order to cover card processing fees). We will notify you by email that the order has been cancelled.

What if I’m going to be out?

If you think you might be out when we deliver your Curry Occasion meal, please provide alternative delivery information on placing your order and we will ensure that your order is delivered where you want it.  Unfortunately, we are unable to leave our food outside as it is chilled and needs to be kept at the required temperature.

We also do not accept responsibility for orders that cannot be delivered due to incorrect postcode or address details.

What time will the delivery be?

We offer three delivery slots, which are between 9.00am to 2.00pm, 2.00pm to 6.00pm and 6.00pm to 9.00pm.  When placing your order you will be asked to select a delivery slot, please note if the slot you require is not available then this means that it is fully booked.  Our evening slots are extremely popular so make sure you book well in advance.

When do I have to place my order?

You must place your order by 4.00pm two working days in advance of the delivery day e.g. if you place an order before 4.00pm on a Wednesday in the Halifax area your order will be delivered to you during the time slot you have chosen on Friday of the same week.  However, if your order is placed on Thursday morning then your order will not be delivered until a week on Friday.

Can I book more than a week in advance?

Yes - if you wish to book more than one week in advance for a ‘special occasion’ then please precede with the order in the normal way, pick your time slot and put a note in the ‘special message box’ for the date you require your delivery.  Please note that the date must be the day we deliver in your area.  Please refer to the 'delivery information' page for the day we deliver in your area.  However, for larger orders we are able to arrange special delivery on an alternative day.  Please contact our order line on 01422 254594.

How much does delivery cost?

We charge £1.00 for delivery on all orders.

Is there a minimum order?

Yes - all orders must be £10.00 and over.

How is my food delivered?

All our dishes are packaged in plastic containers and are delivered chilled for you to reheat. Full instructions for heating all our starters, main courses and sundries are provided.

Can I have my food delivered to a different address?

Of course. Just provide the alternative delivery address on your order form and we will do the rest. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for orders that cannot be delivered due to the wrong address details being provided.

How long will the food keep for?

We recommend that you enjoy our dishes on the day they are delivered. However, they can be kept chilled in a refrigerator up to the use by date. Our meals are suitable for home freezing, but please make sure that they are frozen on the day of delivery and are defrosted thoroughly.

What if I want to order something that is not on your menu?

We have recently extended our menu due to the feedback we have received from our customers who wanted more variety. However, if you would like something that is not on our menu then please contact us on our order line and we will endeavour to cater for your specific needs.

Can I heat the dishes in the oven?

Yes, we already provide instructions for heating our starters and sundries in the oven but all our curries can be heated in the oven as well. You need to remove them from the container and place in an oven proof dish in a pre-heated oven at gas mark 6-200 degrees centigrade / 400 degrees Fahrenheit for approx 8 – 12 minutes. These instructions are given as a guide only as all appliances vary in performance. Please ensure the product is piping hot. Do not reheat once cooked.

Who prepares the food?

The Curry Occasion strives to bring you the best quality food and we have carried out extensive research in order to provide this.  All our starters, mains and the rogani naan and pilau rice are made by award winning restaurant chefs.  The mango and strawberry lassi is freshly produced by the Curry Occasion on site.
